Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

It has been a long time....... I guest many years ago since I wrote to you.
I have so many things to tell you. I am sure you have seen our new house. We went to Hawaii, and we are really happy of all the good things God has bless us with. I am not sure if you are reading my blog or not anymore. For sure, I have been so busy with our lives that I totally neglected to write about us for almost 3 years. My girls are growing fine. Karla is a pre- teen, dealing with all the changes that her body has. She still plays the piano and she loves to play soccer. This year she improved soccer a lot, she had a good coach. My girl is very responsible with school, and she is a good student. I love her passion for missions and her caring instinct for the needy. She did profession of faith last year. It was good to see her ready!
Daniela is 7 years old now, she is a good student, she loves reading just like her sister. She is very active and she likes outdoor activities. She loves hiking and rock climbing. She is very friendly and likes to please her parents.

The summer is almost here, we have been thinking on things we could do here. Now that our school is doing a Spanish immersion, my girls appetite to learn Spanish has finally awaken, so I am composing children stories in Spanish, and both of my girls sit and listen to my reading. They both tell me what I am doing wrong and they also add more things to it. Our new project for this summer is to finish and publish one of my stories into a book in both languages. Karla is also writing stories and she wants to publish her story as well. Daniela is going to be the illustrator in our drafts, and maybe later in other books.

I am done with one story. Of course, it takes time to write well,  to find the right words in either language and to make it sound right. I guess my main idea is for Karla and Daniela to read and write well in Spanish, I know it is difficult, but not impossible. I am sure we all are learning some new things, and I think it will be good for my girls and for me too.

My book is called "Lito y el Lobo." I just started to make the same story in English. I love to review grammar, punctuation, and run on sentences. I am sure you may find many of those in these paragraphs. Randall has been helping me a lot, also some friends and family from Peru. Before I publish, we want to make sure that everything is correct.

This is our first draft, a 30
pages book. All illustrated by
Daniela. She was very happy,
this book is for a second to third grade
level. I don’t think Daniela could
read it yet, but she could understand
most of it. Not so much for the
meaning of the book, but for the
new vocabulary.

If you are interesting to read it, I will probably will have it done in both languages in the summer. I can order some books for you at no cost for you. Text me or call me, I will be very happy to share with friends and family.

Until next time
Love you all

The Whitman Family

A new picture of us. Randall keep asking me to post in our blog, and I have to remind myself to do it more often.

Karla and Daniela are doing gymnastics, they have been there for many months now. Karla is not doing ballet this fall, we took a break. I need it, she is happy with gymnastics, and she have a couple of friends from school there. Daniela is doing awesome there, hopefully she will work in having more muscle strength and soon do a cartwheel.

Daniela is kindergarten now, and she is learning how to read, she is friendly and outgoing and she ask for play dates with her friends.

Karla is in third grade and she still have piano lessons. She loves to read and learn new things. She is a great kid, caring and loving.

We also have a pet, is a beautiful rabbit, she is cute.
Next time I put her picture, her name is Snow white.

As for me, I start exercising 4 to 5 times a week, also I start going to a Zumba class, it is fun to learn new moves.

Randall is looking for a job, hopefully he finds it soon.

Karla in Chapel

They also worship in Chapel. It was really nice to see the kids moving to the songs. Sometimes even in difficult times we suppose to have a heart like children and always worship our savior.

Chapel in RCS

Karla in chapel
Very happy to see my daughter growing in a Christian environment. It is a blessing for us to have her and see her love for the Lord.

Bathroom Remodeling

Daniela helping with the primer, she did so good

Finally, no more white walls in my bathrooms.
We did some bathroom remodeling, we first did the hall bathroom, we painted the walls, change the light features and the counter top, then we painted the cabinet with a espresso mocha color, as you know I like mocha and caramel in mostly everything even in the bathrooms ;)
The tile also is brown, and I love it, I don't have to clean every day like before, I am really happy. We also change the faucet. I love the color too, that's why I show it many times.

The other bathroom is another story, it wasn't in our plans, but we did it and we are happy with the results. We had some plumbing problems with the master bathroom, we found some leaking in the wall and cabinets. The cabinets didn't survive, we lived with the sink next to us for a month until the new cabinets arrived. since our master bathroom is pretty big, our cabinets were 91 inches and we couldn't find any cabinets with that size anywhere, and at the end we had to order it. Since I choose mostly everything in the other bathroom, I asked Randall to pick up the cabinets, and he is very happy with the color, I personally like it darker, but is ok I think still look nice. We changed the cabinets, and we also change the floor, and I choose it really dark, again I am very happy that I don't have to clean every day. We also changed to new faucets but we keep the counter top the same, and still looks nice. I will find decorations and new towels, I just got the new curtains for the master bathroom and the new rug.

Next project will be in a long long time, but I personally like to see no more white walls, next will be the bedrooms :)

2011

Time flyes. The best part of the year is see how my girls are growing. Karla is doing well in second grade, but also she is learning piano and ballet.

AS for Daniela, she start school at RCS, and she is doing well. She can write her name, and she start reading a little also.

Cecilia and Randall did a little this year also. We went to a U2 concert in Anaheim, and it was fun. We couldn't take a picture because they didn't allow cameras, but it was really nice to go out and enjoy time with Randall and friends.
My mother-in-law still take take of the girls on Fridays, so they had some grandma time.
