Month Report

Karla is learning how to play soccer better. She has more control of the ball, and she also loves the sport. Last game, we play against another team, who is also from church. For a moment, I thought Karla would forget about the game and play with her friend, but instead she didn't talk to her until the end of the game. By the way, this time we were even 3 and 3. I guess Randall and coach Eddie are improving.

Karla also acted in her school. She was an old lady "Old Mother Hubbert" from nursery rhymes.
She really enjoy it, and we also.

Karla is also learning how to read. Today she read " Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss. She is also learning how to read some words in Spanish, and she can count up to 30 in French. She always ask me to learn new words in french, so both of us are learning something new every day.

Daniela also is expressing herself more. She still mixing languages, but I think it will came eventually. She still goes to Apple Tree, and we are very happy, she learned a lot.
Here is her picture with her friend Marissa.

Daniela can recognize mostly every letter from the alphabet ( English). I am not planning to start with another language any time soon. Although the other day she say " Bonjour."

Since Daniela is a long name, and in Peru we can call them "Dany". I recently teach her that her name is Dany, but the other day, Randall told me that Dany is for boys....oh well.....I think she eventually will say her name and for now she can be Dany.

Month Report

It has been a long time since I wrote in my blog. All I can say is that we are busy with the girls. Karla still playing soccer twice a week. Ballet once a week, and school every day. Daniela still goes to learning center twice a week, and to the library twice a week. Also she is learning ballet.
Karla is learning how to read, and making a calendar for a week. I just introduce the concept of money. The worth of coins, and the counting process. She is also advancing in math. Add and subtraction. In ballet, she is in inter medium Ballet, and she is very flexible. She can do things with her body that I can't. She is looking forward to take Pointe.
Daniela on the other hand, can recognized some letters. We still working with puzzles, and blocks. Daniela loves to color coloring books, and she is learning how to use the pencil and crayon. We still working on Daniela's toilet training, we only put diaper on her when we go out, during nap time, and during night.
We only had three play dates during this month, and even I miss our friends, sometimes it is very hard just to get out. Hopefully in the future is easier.

Last Month New Activities

It has been so long since I wrote last time. My time at home is going really fast, and I guess we have been busy raising these two young ladies. Daniela starts going to a learning center, and also learning Ballet. She is really enjoying school, and Karla also. Karla is in Redlands Christian School, a private school, where most of the students and their parents goes to our church. I really feel comfortable and happy that Karla is there. She is also learning bible verses, which is important to us.
I am teaching Karla Spanish at home, and we read two books per day. We decided that during school year, we won't socialize much, especially during weekdays, and it is going better that way. Karla really came tired from school, and she need to rest before going to the next activity. Karla is also playing soccer this fall. I love fall....

Las Vegas---Nevada

We had a great time with my family and my friend from high school ( Mapy). We meet in Circus Circus in Las Vegas, and she also came with her family. Her husband, who is also American, and her daughter Valery. We stayed for 5 days, and it was a short time, but we are planning to meet again. Maybe this time in our sweet California.
My parents also came along with us, and they walk a lot. Karla also walk a lot, I feel so proud of my little girl. Daniela didn't complain. She play with Valery, who is the same age as Daniela. It is so easy if they have the same age, they could run and run.

Summer

This is the best summer I ever have. Well probably the second best summer I ever have. My first one was in Lima when I was 13 years old. I remember walking to the beach and talking to my friends until late at night. It was really nice. I never worried about the future then, and it was just before the economical crisis, so by then it was really peaceful. But anyway I think it is very nice to have another nice summer in my life.
This summer, my girls took swimming lessons. They did great, and Karla isn't having so much fear as before. Daniela on the other hand, had also a lot of fun, splashing everywhere. Too bad, I could not take pictures since I had to stay with Daniela in the water. We also had so many pool parties this summer, and also I meet new people, who are really nice. My friend Naghmeh, who is from Iran, and of course Olga from Puerto Rico, who is leaving soon. Here are a couple of pictures from this year. We also are going to Highland Library for the toddlers program, which is really great. I guess my girls are really enjoying this summer, and we are really happy!! :)

They even have fun with a little wading pool.
It is so precious to be children

Jenks Lake

Last Friday, we had a nice time at Jenks Lake. Randall had the opportunity to leave early from work, and we decided we wanted to do something different, so we thought first about going to Forest Falls, but it was close because a bear is looking for food around that area, and the place will be close until they find the bear. Then we decided to go to Jenks Lake, which is also closer and nice. We invited my parents and my in-laws.
We went there and barbecue. We cooked 24 pieces of chicken, 20 hamburgers, and 6 pieces of meat. Yeah it is a lot of foof, but it was worth it doing it because I didn't have to cook yesterday.
We ate lunch, and then we walk around the lake, and everyone had so much fun.

Daniela's Birthday

Danila's second birthday was last week on Saturday July 18th. We had a small gathering in Shakey's. We were four families and we order pizza. Then I got some tokens, so the older kids could play. They really had fun, and me too. There was a spider game where we have to step on the spider and that was really fun. I had to play it when Daniela was going away from the game. Randall also have fun, he could met and talk with other fathers, which is really nice. He could make new friends. We were there until 4:30 pm, and we are glad because it was really hot that day.
We also order a Mickey cake, which Daniela likes very much.

Later in the afternoon, we had my family caming over for dinner. We make some peruvian plates. Carapulcra and Cau Cau. Randall's favorite. I mean, my mom help me the most because I don't really know how to make Carapulcra. We also had a nice time. Daniela was very hot when we came home, so we put her in the tub for an hour, then she was ready to eat and play again.
On Friday, I made a birthday cake. It is a duck, but ir looked more like an owl. I could not find smaller cookies, but I found this oreos and it worked ok. The only problem was that it was so hot, that the mouth fell, so it is a duck with a big eyes and no mouth. I am glad Dany doesn't really notice.
Her favorite toy was the broom, she is so like my dad. She lovesssss to clean...:)

Mas tarde, my familia vino a celebrar.
No creen?
