Father's Day

In father's day, we got together in my house. Since Randall had to give a seminar in Loma Linda University, we had no time to prepare for father's day in our favorite park. Instead, we planned to make Carapulcra, a peruvian dish that I don't really know how to make, but my mom was going to teach me. Rosa, my mom, and me were going to make it together, but Rosa's refrigerator broke and her house was fill with water, and she couldn't make it on time. In the meantime, we couldn't cook because we had to wait for Rosa with some of the ingredients, but I am glad that we bought a lot of fruits and snacks the day before, so that helped a lot. We prepared a grilled chicken, and I made rice. We invited our friend Jerry from Puerto Rico and Pastor Bert Block. We had a great time. We burned some piezes of chicken, but Randall told me that he would eat it. Well he ate like 7 of them. I would love to be like Randall, eat and eat and never gain weight. My mother in law brought some corn, so we grilled also. At the end, we had enough food for every one.

The same day Javier and Jamie were preparing to go to Peru, so I went that night to bring "encarguitos" some presents for my family there. We stayed until 2 am, but we enjoy it. I got to see some friends that I didn't see for a long time. Jamie best friend and her mom. Brenda ( the mom) made some beautiful scarfs, and she send Rocio some. She also gave me and my mom scafts. They were beautiful and hand made.

Here are some of the pictures from Father's day. We really had a nice day..

A Nice Remembering !!

A friend of mine from elementary school send me my First Communion card. I almost cry to read my name. It is so nice that family and friends keep memories, pictures, and cards. But the most important of all to remember such as important day in our childhood. Thanks Connie!!

Today it was Karla's first visit to the dentist. She did great. They took x-rays and also checked her teeth. She has two cavities, I know...She should eat less sweets!!.

Dinner time now, so I better feed my girls before going to drink coffee with my friend.

Karla's Parties---June 2009

We had two birthday parties for Karla. On Friday we invited only some friends and my family. Since we didn't know if my parents could make it to the park on Saturday, we decided to make dinner on Friday. We made Pizza on the grill. It was so much fun. At first it took long time to make the first one, but my friend was here, and she is the master of the pizzas, so she help us out.

On Saturday the party was in Yucaipa Community Park. It was cold, but many people came. Almost 43 with parents and children. My family also came, and I was surprise, but very happy to see my parents there. We didn't leave until 7 pm. My friends Sue and Vicky help me out for the party. Sue help me carried all the food in her trunk, since I had to carry the drinks and the pinata. My friend Vicky made cup cakes for Karla. It was awesome!!!
The kids had so much fun, the kiddos run and run. Here is some of the pictures from our parties.

My lovely husband, Isn't he cute?

The little ones also had fun. Jacob D hitting the pinata

We got some ballons to make figures like dogs, flowers, and swores.

My Last Day of Work

Today it was my last day of work. We don't know if I will work later or not, it all depends on the budget, but for now let's say that is ok. We had so many projects at home that it will nice to have some time off from work.
I got to know many of the students and they are really nice and caring and eager to learn the language, so hopefully there is enough budget for next year.

Karla's Birthday

Karla's Birthday

It has been so long since I wrote in my blog. On June 4, my sweet little Karla turned 5 years old.
We didn't do anything special. I just made a cake, bring cup cakes to school, and made her favorite dinner ( Macaroni and cheese). Yeah, I guess everyone had to eat that, except for Randall and my parents. Then Rosa came after work and she stay for dinner and cake.

I made a surprise table before she arrived from school

After school we rent a movie ( Super Babies a Dora movie) and stay home. We really had a calm and easy day. I'll post the party and the pictures soon.

Busy Week... Karla turns 5...

This weekend we started preparing for Karla's Birthday party. We are going to have two birthday parties, since my parents are old and they can't stay at the park for too long, we decided is better to do two. So we buy pinata and fill it up, also I had to find the princess banners and my pink table cloths ( took two hours to finde them). I also order a cake, a friend of mine offer me to make cup cakes, but just in case we never know we may need extra, so we order a princess cake.
Also I start preparing for the party with my family, I would like that people have fun, so we will make pizza, and everyone will choose what ever they want on it. chicken, pineapple, mushrooms, olives, onion, and tomatoes. Also beef, and i may get some pepperoni. I think Karla will have fun making her own pizza, also my friend Nancy will came with her daughter, so she won't feel alone. Now we have to decided to make it outside or inside the house.
I also went to reserved the place at the park, I am glad i did because so many picnic areas were reserved. So I hope she has nice bithday parties with her family and friends.
