Spanish for Children

For a long time, I have been thinking about teaching Spanish to children. My goal is to have a fun and dynamic class at the same time as learning Spanish. I will be teaching children age 3 to 12, and small group tutoring for those who already are taking classes.

Some of the pictures were taken when we went to Hollywood to see a movie with Karla and her friend Emily. I am getting to know her mom and she is really nice. We enjoy their company.
The last picture was taken when it was a grandparents day. My parents and Randall' parents, took the girls to eat lunch. Valuable moments with the family!!!
Karla and Daniela still in ballet, this year they will dance ¨ Alice in Wonderland¨. It is the fifth time for Karla and the first time for Daniela. Also in June is Karla's first piano recital. Hopefully is not all at the same time.

March

On March 12, My friend Wendy and I went to Mission Inn to eat lunch in "Las Campanas"a restaurant located in the hotel. It was fun, we enjoy the Mexican food and some margaritas with it. At the end, they bring a delicious lemon pie, it was so good. Until now my mouth still have the taste of the pie, it was really good.
Then we went to visit an art museum. It was an old house, but it was a really nice house.
I took some of the art picture too.








I also went to a french restaurant in San Bernardino, it was really nice, I don't have the pictures, but I saw they make the crepes in flames, it was nice to see it, but really weird to eat it, after we saw so many flames. The food was nice, I really love it, I am planning to come back again. It was fun !!

A Sad Week

My heart still sad, I still can't accept that he is gone. My cousin Cachichi passed away two weeks ago, he had bronconeumonia. He was only over 50 years old. We all were surprise, and very sad.
My mom still crying from time to time, and my sister Rosa was very sad too, since she lived with him and his family for a while.
The vigil was is San Fernando in a catholic mortuary, the mass or misa as I call it, it was next day on the day of the burial. We didn't take pictures with the family, but we keep the memory in our hearts.

Rest in peace Cachichi. We always love you!!!

Mi corazón todavía esta triste, mi primo Cachichi falleció hace dos semanas por una bronconeumonía. El tenia solo algo mas de 50 años. Todavía todos estamos tristes.

El velatorio fue en una capilla católica en San Fernando y el funeral y entierro fue al día siguiente. Hubieron muchas flores, y muchas personas queridas por el.

Descansa en paz primo, todos te amamos por siempre!!

Art and Monopoly

This week, we did some art.
On the left, Karla's backpack.
Daniela´s backpack is more colorful. She loves to use purple and pink in every project. She did some parts orange too.
Quiet time lasted for an hour with arts and crafts.
I remember Karla didn't like to color before, but now she loves to choose colors and enjoy coloring.
We also start piano lessons this month, Karla has been practicing and she seems to enjoy it. She likes to practice and do her piano homework. Ballet also has been challenging for her, as this year she just started in a pre-pointe class. She is the youngest there, but she follows instructions well and she doesn't mind to be corrected, just like her mother; we both accept correcting mistakes very well. And just like her mother in Gymnastics, we never have our backs straight enough.


Sundays, Randall, the girls, and my nephew Paul have been
playing monopoly. Sometimes they play up to for 4 hours. Karla is looking forward to each Sunday to play monopoly.

Looking forward to a nice a relaxing weekend at home with my family. We all need it!!

New Year 2011----- Feliz año 2011

We had a great time at Big Bear. The girls played with the snow, and they also went sledding. We ate at a restaurant in town.




En la mañana del primero de Enero del 2011, fuimos a las montañas de Big Bear. Las nenas jugaron bastante con la nieve. Primero tiraban bolitas de nieve y después se deslizaron por las montañas en su deslizador.
A Randall le encantó, solo que esta vez se golpeó un poquito.

December 2010

We had so many rainy days in December, just before Christmas, we had 4 days of rain. During that week, we invited Karla's friends from church, Sarah and Alice. They had fun. They played performance and dancing.
Later that day, I noticed Karla wasn't feeling very well, she ended up sick that week. In the meantime, we tried to do our best during those rainy days. We did some arts and crafts.

Karla asked me to make an airplane for her Barbie,
so we found some nice boxes.
Daniela asked me to paint her castle, so
we did both cut pieces for the airplane, paint,
and we did the airplane and the castle.

Christmas eve, we made dinner with our families.

On the 26th, it was my mom's birthday.
She is 82 this year.

On the 27th we got together with my friend Patty, we all had a great time. We exchanged gifts and ate some goodies. After eating we went outside to try the rocket balloons that Michelle gave Daniela for Christmas, and they had a great time, I think after so many days of rain, we all needed it to be outdoors.
On the 28th, we got together with Randall's friends. Kevin and Greg. We meet at Union Station in Los Angeles. It was fun to walk, eat, and laugh.
