Daniela's Birthday

Danila's second birthday was last week on Saturday July 18th. We had a small gathering in Shakey's. We were four families and we order pizza. Then I got some tokens, so the older kids could play. They really had fun, and me too. There was a spider game where we have to step on the spider and that was really fun. I had to play it when Daniela was going away from the game. Randall also have fun, he could met and talk with other fathers, which is really nice. He could make new friends. We were there until 4:30 pm, and we are glad because it was really hot that day.
We also order a Mickey cake, which Daniela likes very much.

El sabado 18 de Julio fue el cumpleanos de Daniela. Invitamos a 3 familias para celebrar su cumpleanos en un restaurante de pizzas. Los nenes la pasaron muy bien y nosotros tambien. Compramos boletos para jugar juegos y hasta yo jugue.

Later in the afternoon, we had my family caming over for dinner. We make some peruvian plates. Carapulcra and Cau Cau. Randall's favorite. I mean, my mom help me the most because I don't really know how to make Carapulcra. We also had a nice time. Daniela was very hot when we came home, so we put her in the tub for an hour, then she was ready to eat and play again.
On Friday, I made a birthday cake. It is a duck, but ir looked more like an owl. I could not find smaller cookies, but I found this oreos and it worked ok. The only problem was that it was so hot, that the mouth fell, so it is a duck with a big eyes and no mouth. I am glad Dany doesn't really notice.
Her favorite toy was the broom, she is so like my dad. She lovesssss to clean...:)

Mas tarde, my familia vino a celebrar. Mi mami hizo Carapulcra y Cau Cau. El plato favorito de Randall. Tambien la pasamos bien, Daniela tuvo tanto calor que tuvimos que ponerla en la tina por una hora, pero despues estaba lista a jugar.
El viernes hice una torta en forma de pato, lo malo es que parecia mas un buo; ya que tenia los ojos grandes. Al final hacia tanto calor que se derritio el caramelo que le habia puesto por boca, asi que fue un pato con ojos grandes y sin boca. :) Que bueno que Dany todavia no me reclama, lo mejor fue el sabor. No creen?
Su regalo favorito fue la escoba, siempre tan leopoldina mi hijita.......

Randall's Birthday

Today is Randall's birthday. He turns 37 years old. I am so glad to be married to him, he is really a great person and a wonderful father. On Friday, we invite my good friend Patty who is also her birthday and we celebrated her birthday and Randall's. We make grilled pizza. My girls and her boys could play for a while, and we can eat and talk for a while also.
On Saturday, we went to the beach to celebrate Randall's party there. We had so much fun. My girls play and play until they were really tired. We barbecue hamburgers, chicken, carne asada, and pork. We had a big grill and nice space there.
We really got tired this weekend, it was really hard to wake up this morning, and get my girls dress and ready to go to worship. We did though!! We went to church, and then the church had an activity in the park, but we didn't go, instead we came home and made more grilled pizza.

Tomorrow also my girls start their swimming lessons. They are going to have it in the morning for two weeks, except Fridays. We'll see how it goes this time, hopefully Karla is not afraid of the water anymore.

The other exciting news is that my friend Maria from elementary School and me are going to meet in Las Vegas the third week of August. She also has a daughter as Daniela's age, so we will celebrate her birthday there. This is really exciting for both of us, I really love my friend, and I hope her daughter and mine are close as us.

Other news, Karla learning Spanish, I am teaching her how to read and put words together. Also Practicing counting numbers 10--100 in spanish and english. Daniela is talking more, she mixes a lot english with spanish. Like she would say papa (potatoes) when she is hungry. Agua when she wants juice. Yesterday Daniela say 5 new words, so she is doing great. She is also interacting with other children, she is a busy toddler!!. Daniela also could say most of the body parts, but only in english, we will try to do it in spanish later. But for now, I think we go slow, is not need to be in a hurry.

Fourth of July

We had a nice weekend. The fourth of July, we woke up early and we were planning to go to the pancake breakfast at church, but we couldn't make it. My mom woke up late, and then my friend call, so I talked to her for a while, the time went by, so I decided to do some Zumba excercise. My mother-in-law came early to pick them up ( K&D) to go to Forest Falls. We were planning to stay up all day, but my friend also invited us to go for dinner. My friend is leaving soon, so we decided to stay with them for dinner.

The kids had some much fun up in the mountains, they went to see the falls and walk around. We also ate burgers and hot dogs, and the most important marshmallows. We really had a nice time. My parents were so happy that we are planning to bring them again, and for sure we will.

In the afternoon, we went to my friend's appt, they lived in the appts that belong to the University of Redlands. We stay in the pool, and Karla was in the pool until almost 8 pm. My girls were so tired that they couldn't wait until the end of the fireworks. We all were tired, but very happy!!:)

Tuvimos un 4 de Julio muy bonito. Ese dia es el dia de la independencia de Estados Unidos. Nosotros nos fuimos a las montanas en la manana y en la tarde fuimos donde una amiga a cenar y a celebrar el 4 de julio. Bueno me tengo que ir, Karla quiere que le lea algo y tengo que aprovechar este momento en que Daniela esta durmiendo. Nos vemos :)

Last week, Karla practiced to dance every day before her performance. The first show was about the 80' pop music and Karla danced a song from Madonna called " Material Girl". Most of the show was TAP, modern dance, and hula. The music was good. There were so many songs that brought memories, but the best of the show was the performance of "Thriller", just a day after Michael Jackson was dead. They really performed well, the make-up was also perfect. And for Karla and her performance, she also did well. I can say that she loves to dance. Next day performance was Cinderella. She danced "The Winter Fairy", and she did very good also in her ballet. We were proud of her, when she came home, we gave her some flowers, and we served some dessert after her performance. The day that she performed ballet, she had two presentations and a birthday party. We went to the party only for an hour, my good friend from Chile with her daughter we have known each other since Karla was 6 months old. Well of course Karla was tired, and she sat down, and she saw food. Oh boy, she spend the hour eating, and I think she is in a growing spurt because she ate today 4 pancakes, anyway she was so tired she fall asleep on the way to the teater. So I stayed with her until her performance, it was no way she could make it until the end of the show. After that we went home and we went to a restaurant to celebrate. So that was the day of her dance...

La semana pasada Karla se presento en el teatro de Redlands para su presentacion de baile de TAP y ballet. El primer show fue con musica de los 80'. Karla bailo la cancion de Madonna " Chica Material". Las canciones que pusieron fue buena, pero lo que mas llamo la atencion, fue la cancion de " Thriller" de Michael Jackson, just fallecido un dia antes del evento. Bueno, fue recontra loco, ya que desde el maquillaje hasta la coreografia fue hecha 100% con calidad, es mas con esa cancion cerraron el evento. Y de Karlita, ni se diga nada, pues mi linda princesita a nacido para bailar, y le encanta. A el dia siguiente fue su presentacion de Cenicienta y ella bailo
" Las hadas del Invierno" lo hizo bonito y nosotros orgullosos de ella, le llevamos flores y de ahi hicimos una pequena celebracion en la casa. El sabado fue muy cansado (2 presentaciones de ballet) y a pesar de eso, tambien fuimos a la fiesta de una amiguita de ella y su mama es tambien una buena amiga de Chile. Solo pudimos estar una hora, y claro mi querida hijita se la paso la hora comiendo, debe de ser que esta creciendo, ya que hoy se comio 4 panqueques. Bueno regresamos al evento, pero ya no nos quedamos hasta el final ( la hora en que se tiene que despedir del publico). Karla estaba tan cansada que se durmio en el camino al teatro. Entonces tan pronto como termino con su presentacion, la saque y la lleve a la casa. Despues fuimos a celebrar con Randall y las ninas a un restaurante. Y asi paso el dia del baile...
